Strategic Plan in Learning and Teaching
In the context of the pursuit of King Saud University to achieve scientific and research leadership to build a knowledge-based society, and to provide the community with highly qualified Graduates professionally and cognitively, and achieve excellence in learning, teaching process and the quality of academic programs, the university has gathered a committee composed of team of faculty members of the university to prepare a strategy for learning plan and education at KSU.
The committee has to communicate with the scientific, humanitarian and medical colleges in the university, as well assupportive concerned deanships to explain and discuss the elements and initiatives of the strategic plan for learning, education and the university and also the collection, compilation and documentation of all the initiatives that have been filed by various of colleges, and compare them with public initiatives in the strategic plan for learning and education in order to determine the general structure , which includes all operational projects related to the process of learning and teaching at the university
the development of the strategic plan for learning and the process of education at King Saud University has Included great efforts and numerous consultations with various faculties of the university, it has organized a workshop for the definition of the strategic plan for learning and teaching at the university, and colleges vice-deans for academic affairs and others interested in learning and education in which to have their opinion of the plan. also collecting feedback of the other workshops sat up by the university to analyze the current situation by using strategic quadrilateral analysis of four factors: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges (SWOT analysis), and extract what are concerned with teaching and learning from them. Moreover, notes of national Commission of institutional and academic accreditation self-study of the University has been taking in regards of learning and teaching standards. As a comparative study the strategic plan for learning and education has been compared with the strategic plan for the University .
Strategic goals of the plan:
-The first goal: to provide high-quality experiences for the student to be graduates able to participate effectively and responsibly in a changing world.
-The second goal: to support and encourage faculty members to achieve excellence in the field of learning and education.
-The third goal: to provide excellent academic programs that meet the academic and professional standards which are based on the student.
-The fourth goal: to provide a stimulating and supportive academic excellence and creativity in the learning and teaching environment.
-The fifth goal: to provide quality and continuous improvement system that ensures the effectiveness of the quality of teaching and learning outcomes.
Initiatives and projects of learning and teaching plan:
the learning and teaching plan in the university includes number of strategic initiatives to achieve all of the objectives of the plan, which included every one of them on a number of projects to applying those initiatives. The plan contains 116 projects spread over five goals, as well as containing performance indicators for each project
